Last-minute drive on Speyside

GUY accepted a last-minute invitation to drive a Ford Focus RS WRC05 on today's Speyside Stages in Scotland.

He stepped in after No1 seed Dave Weston was forced to pull out with a neck injury.

It is the same Ramsport-run car that Guy used on selected rounds of the World Rally Championship last year.

Guy's co-driver for the Elgin-based event - round six of the County Saab MSA Scottish Rally Championship - will be Dave Robson.

Guy said: "I was going up to watch the rally when Dave called and asked if I fancied sitting in for him.

"He has won the rally for the last two years and he didn't want to let the organisers down - no pressure then!

"Hopefully we can put on a good show and have some fun, fun, fun."

Guy led the rally by 36 seconds after the first five stages but was forced to retire with transmission problems at the arrvial control for stage six.
