Guy Salutes Peugeot Hat-Trick
Guy has praised Peugeot's stunning hat-trick of classic rally wins in the IRC this season.
The French marque triumphed on the world-famous Monte Carlo Rally with Bryan Bouffier in January, with Guy taking third.
Thierry Neuville won the Tour de Corse in May and now the young Belgian has just clinched a sensational victory on Rallye Sanremo.
Guy said: "The Monte, Corsica and Sanremo are three stand-out showpiece events steeped in history.
“Every driver, every team and every manufacturer wants to win these classic tarmac rallies and I'm delighted Peugeot has done that in one season.
"It underlines the pace of the Peugeot 207 S2000 and is the perfect reward for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. I'm proud to be part of the Peugeot family.”
Guy and co-driver Phil Pugh retired on stage one of Sanremo after hitting a bridge.
The Peugeot UK star said: “It is so frustrating because I've never felt happier in the car on tarmac and we had started really well.
"We changed a note to 'don't cut' to avoid risking a puncture after all our bad luck this season but we didn't tighten the corner. We understeered wide and hit the concrete barrier with the front wheel.
“Effectively we ended up crashing trying to be too cautious.”
Guy added: “I'm really pleased for Thierry. If I can't win I always want my team-mate to win and he drove brilliantly under pressure. He really had it hooked up.”
